Last month, my brother Kevin and sister-in-law Alina were getting ready to move out of the California area, so we made plans to get together one final time before moving day. We took a drive over into Ventura to hang out in the Main Street area, and ended up stopping by Nature’s Grill to grab lunch.
Both of them had been to Nature’s Grill before, and they described it as a healthier food spot that also had pretty good shakes as well. The menu contained a nice variety of different sandwiches, salads, pastas, burgers, and vegetarian options to choose from. I was in between going for a burger or a couple of their different sandwiches, but the sandwiches won out in the end. I decided on the Chicken Avocado Sandwich with some additional feta cheese, along with a side order of the Garlic Bread as well.
True to its namesake, the interior of the restaurant utilizes a lot of wood for its décor, along with artificial plants and the color green. It’s a pretty good-sized space, with a mixture between booths and tables that could probably seat around 60 people total. It was later during the Sunday lunch service, so the restaurant was on the quieter side. That equated to us being able to get our food in a relatively quick amount of time.

My sandwich contained grilled chicken breast, avocado slices, grilled red onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and the added feta cheese, all served on a whole wheat bun. The sandwich also came served with a small portion of blue corn tortilla chips and salsa. The order of garlic bread came with two pieces of French bread, topped with garlic, pesto, and melted mozzarella cheese. Between the two plates of food, I thought it looked like a good portion for lunch that would not make me feel too stuffed as we continued about our day.
I thought that the chicken avocado sandwich ate very well, with the Cajun flavors from the seasoning of the grilled chicken breast complementing the freshness of the various vegetables in the sandwich as well. I’m well accustomed to the tangy and salty flavors of feta cheese, and I thought that it was also a nice addition to the other ingredients in the sandwich. As for the garlic bread, I thought that it was good, but there wasn’t really anything about it that stood out very strongly enough that I would probably order it again.
I’d definitely say that if I was looking for some lighter, healthier fare, Nature’s Grill is definitely a good option to consider. There are a good range of items to choose from, depending on what you are in the mood for. Given how expensive that it has gotten to eat out sometimes nowadays, I thought that the pricing of the food at the restaurant was definitely pretty modest for what you receive. This restaurant is probably not one I would have tried if I were on my own, but thanks to Kevin and Alina, it was a good opportunity to give something new a try.
Let’s now take a look at the Nature’s Grill Dish Spotlight. Asterisks (*) below mark my recommended dishes.

And finally, here are my rankings for Nature’s Grill:

The ingredients of the food certainly tasted fresh, and I thought that the menu itself had a good amount of variety on the menu to select from. The food itself is good for what it is, if I was looking for something more on the healthier side.
Atmosphere: 4 / 5
The décor of the space definitely aligned with the theme of the restaurant itself. There was certainly ample seating available and a good amount of natural light coming in through the front windows to help illuminate the space.
