G&G HOT DOGS
Address: Around 35 Shrewsbury Avenue, Red Bank, NJ 07701 (right by the railroad tracks)
I’m a pretty big fan of food trucks. Some of the time, you can find the most delicious food sitting inside a food truck, but until you give it a try, you won’t know how good it is (pretty similar to any other restaurant). G&G Hot Dogs is a truck that I have always seen sitting right by the railroad tracks on Shrewsbury Avenue from Monday to Saturday for as long as I remember. There are occasional times that we stop by the truck to pick up some dinner for the night or for a light afternoon snack, and today was one of those occasions.
The one thing that I am really surprised about is the price of the hot dogs. Any hot dog with one topping on it is $1.75, while getting everything on it is $2.00. That really isn’t a price that you can beat for a meal, so most people often getting two for lunch or dinner. It’s also probably why the line for the truck during lunch hours extends to 10 to 12 people deep. Not only are the prices good for the hot dogs but also the quality of the food is good as well. Everything tastes pretty good to me and I’m always pretty full after eating two of the hot dogs (still can’t believe it costs me only $4 total). G&G is a great place to stop by for grabbing a quick bite to eat and it’s at a pretty convenient (but sometimes crowded) location.
Here are my rankings for G&G Hot Dogs:
Food: 4 / 5
The hot dogs themselves tend to lean on the thinner side, but for the price you can buy two and it will fill you up just as much as getting one at another hot dog place.
Atmosphere: ~
Food trucks don’t really have dining areas, so there’s nothing really to be said about this ranking. The parking area is pretty nicely paved though if you want to enjoy your hot dog outside.
Service: 4 / 5
The owner, Gus, is a pretty nice guy and he’s fun to talk to while he’s preparing your food.
Price: 5 / 5
Great price to food ratio that I’ve seen in the area. At $1.75 a hot dog, the value is really hard to beat. I mean, just getting a bag of chips from a vending machine is $0.90 nowadays!
Overall: 13 / 15 (87%)

I don’t think it’s there anymore.
It’s been a while since I’ve been back over there. Quite possible that the truck’s moved, or Gus has retired. Either way, thanks for the heads-up!
Yes we are still there and open Monday through Saturday
